Geography

At 236,040 km2, Uganda is located in Eastern Africa, west of Kenya, south of South Sudan and east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is in the heart of the Great Lakes region, and is surrounded by three of them, Lake Edward, Lake Albert, and Lake Victoria. Uganda averages about 1,100 metres above sea level, and it slopes very steadily downwards to the Sudanese Plain to the north. With many lakes, Uganda is known as the "the Springside of Plateau".

The Ruwenzori Mountains, which is known as"moon mountain", is located in the west of Uganda. It is the 3rd highest mountain, with an altitude of 5110. The Lake Victoria in the south was 42.8% in Uganda, known as the largest lake in Africa and the second largest freshwater lake.

Climate

Despite being on the equator Uganda is more temperate than the surrounding areas due to its altitude. The country is mostly plateau with a rim of mountains. This has made it more suitable to agriculture and less prone to tropical diseases than other nations in the region. The climate is tropical; generally rainy with two dry seasons (December to February, June to August). It is semiarid East Sudanian savanna in north near Sudan. 

District 

Uganda is divided into districts, spread across four administrative regions: Northern, Eastern, Central (Kingdom of Buganda) and Western. 

Capital:
Kampala is the largest city and capital of Uganda. Locate in south central, there is only 11km away from the city to Lake Victoria. The plateau of this is 1190m, about 200km2. Despite being on the equator, it is not hot in Kampala. The city is famous for its beautiful landscape and is consider as an epitome of Uganda. There is many scenic spots such as National Theatre, National Museum, Buganda Palace, Kasuri than Tomb, Independence Monument. 

Economic 

As a member of EAC, Uganda has good natural conditions, fertile land, abundant rainfall and suitable climate. The Agricultural contributes 70% of the GDP and 95% of the exports, and the industry is undeveloped. 

Tourism 

Tourism is the second largest contributor of foreign exchange after coffee. Tourism in Uganda is focused on Uganda's landscape and wildlife. Uganda has a very diverse culture, landscape, flora, and fauna. Uganda is one of only three countries where it is possible to visit mountain gorillas, which are Uganda's prime tourist attraction. The vast majority of these are in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with a few others in Mgahinga National Park, both in southwestern Uganda. Also, the Source of Nile, the Magnificent Abuja Galileo Falls, Elizabeth National Park are very attractive scenic spots in Uganda.
